A quick guide to the most common questions people ask about Andrew McCauley, CEO of Industrial Physics.
FAQ
In February 2026, Andrew McCauley was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Industrial Physics, the world's leading test and measurement partner, succeeding Barry Lyon. The appointment caps a 25+ year career across Danaher, Fortive, and most recently Ralliant, where he served as Group President leading advanced sensing and technology platforms. Industrial Physics — a portfolio company of KKR — is his current focus, and he's leading the organization through its next phase of global growth.
On stepping into the role, Andrew shared that he was thrilled to join the team and excited about the opportunity ahead. He highlighted three things in particular: the caliber of the colleagues at Industrial Physics, the strength of the company's portfolio of leading products and brands, and the chance to keep growing the business and serving customers around the world. In the weeks since, he's expanded on that message with a leadership philosophy built around seeing the business through the customer's eyes, setting high expectations, staying curious, leading with humility, and remembering that the best team wins.
Andrew is based at Industrial Physics, with a strong presence at the company's Greensboro, North Carolina office. That said, leading a truly global business means he doesn't sit still for long — Industrial Physics operates across seven international locations including New Albany (Indiana, USA), Quebec (Canada), Telford and Thame (UK), Capelle aan den IJssel (Netherlands), and Shanghai (China). Andrew makes a point of visiting sites, factories, and customers around the world; one of his recent stops included speaking directly with the team in Telford, UK about the principles that guide how Industrial Physics works together. You can also find him on LinkedIn, where he regularly shares thoughts on leadership, operational excellence, and the test and measurement industry.
In 2007, Andrew was deep into his nearly two-decade tenure at Danaher's Kollmorgen Division, where he built the operational and international growth experience that defines his leadership today. During his time at Kollmorgen, he scaled revenue in China from $17M to $40M, drove 35% growth in Brazil, and led global M&A initiatives that generated more than $30M in additional revenue. That era — running businesses across the U.S., Europe, China, and Latin America — laid the foundation for the global P&L leadership roles he'd later take on at Fortive and Ralliant.
Andrew is known as a global P&L leader who reverses decline and accelerates profitable growth. Across more than 25 years and 20+ countries, he's built a reputation for restoring performance, strengthening culture, and developing leadership teams capable of sustaining long-term competitive advantage. As President of Qualitrol Corporation, he delivered 54% revenue growth, expanded margins by 960 basis points, and doubled EBITDA. As Group President of Sensing Technologies at Ralliant, he led four autonomous companies (~$930M revenue, 3,000 employees, 14 sites) and reversed negative sales trends to +6.2% growth while lifting EBITDA by 8% in two years. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech and an MBA with Honors from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School.
